Anthroposophy & Waldorf Education Research Resources Centre

Online Study and Independent Resources
| There are two basic aims to the Centre: The overarching goal of the centre is to provide a foundation for the underlying philosophy and principles behind Steiner / Waldorf Education and Anthroposophy. It does this by taking a research perspective. The intention is to provide resources for this education and for potential and existing teachers, as well as others, to learn about the central philosophy of the education and anthroposophy and with easy access. The Centre also aims to be valuable resource for existing or potential parents. The Centre offers self-study research-based learning materials. These materials are offered on a module basis. In a sense, this highlights the primary goal of the Centre: researching the underlying philosophy gives the archetypal ideas behind specific curricula and which may indeed be realised differently in each Steiner School and in each Class of each school and in accord with the individuality of the teacher, the children and the socio-cultural context in which the School is located. Resources: The resources are drawn from the eight taught modules of a previously existing MA and Postgraduate Diploma. These will take the following forms and can be accessed below or on request: 1) “Lectures” in the form of power point presentations. These will cover all the topics concerned with the fundamental philosophy. These are intended for Steiner / Waldorf teachers, parents and other interested persons. These power points are extracts from some of the live seminars of the Steiner Education Diploma modules indicated below. In the context of the Diploma, they are comprised of key ideas and principles in the education (see Access to the Modules below). 2) There are also a number of study materials based on themes surrounding the challenges and criticisms of Steiner Education (see Additional Study Resources below) Financial Contribution: The aim in this context is to make professional development and information about Steiner / Waldorf Education as available as possible to anyone. In light of this, the cost for access to the learning materials is kept as low as possible. So if you have used the learning materials on this site on a self-study basis, we hope that you can make a contribution to the ongoing research needed to provide this resource below. |
Steiner Education Documents for those interested in becoming teachers in Steiner / Waldorf Schools:
Resources: For those interested in Rudolf Steiner’s Philosophy of Education and its Practical Implications.
The first four modules are foundation modules which consider the most fundamental aspects of Steiner Waldorf Education. They will be of value to those interested in Rudolf Steiner’s Philosophy of Education and how this leads over to pedagogy and curriculum.
The second four modules are focused on the principles of the pedagogy and curriculum. These should be of interest to those familiar with the content of the first four modules.
